A Highland Show Heatwave

We enjoyed beautiful weather at this year's Royal Highland Show, with the sun shining all through the judging. Having taken 5 shorthorns and more bantams to come up on the Friday, we were kept quite busy!

Show results as follows:

Bushypark Tiger - 1st in his class

Millerston Irania Linnet - 4th in her class of yearling heifers and a full sister to Millerston Kasper, our bull sold in February.

Millerston Lawman - 4th in his class of yearling bulls.

The real success came with the chickens....three 2nds and a 1st with the Barred Rocks and Welsummers! Could this be the new future? An awful lot less effort when all that had to be done was bring them on the Friday, feed and water them! It caused great hilarity down the shorthorn lines, especially when the other breeders all made a venture to the poultry tent at the west gate for the results. We won't be surprised if there will be a few more chickens at the show next year.
